Why Trends in Women’s Watches Are Always Divisive

Women treat their accessories as a means of improving their overall look and that is why women do not usually look at a watch’s features but how they look entirely.

Trends in women’s watches are always divisive because not a lot of people may agree with them.

In today’s article, I will go over some of the trends in women’s watches and why they are (almost) always divisive.

The Deal About Oversized Watches

The current trend in the watch industry is that people are always looking for oversized watches. Well, they are quite trendy and there are some people that would always look good when wearing one, but not a lot of people seem to think that this style is the way to go.

A lot of women nowadays choose men’s watches over watches that are specifically made for women. Women’s watches only range between 28mm-34mm but most femmes nowadays would opt for a good 38-42mm watch just like a typical man would do.

The reason circles back to the ongoing trend of wearing oversized watches and as you can probably already tell, there is a reason why not everyone agrees with this.

If a man would wear an oversized watch, then that is usually no problem simply because men have bigger bodies than women. But for a cute female to be wearing a watch that is too big for her wrists? That is a huge deal!

Mini Watches Still a Thing

Now, although minimalist and cute watches are still available on the market, this is another point of contention amongst women who are thinking of buying a watch.CIGA WatchesNow, although minimalist and cute watches are still available on the market, this is another point of contention amongst women who are thinking of buying a watch.

Just like buying (and wearing) oversized watches, some women believe that those that still opt for those cutesy and small watches are people who are not ‘within the times’ and are only purchasing them to go against the grain.

Personally, I would choose a watch that conforms really well on my wrist. So, whether it is a watch that is too big for an average woman or something that fits me really well, I would definitely go with the one that will accentuate my looks, even if I have to go against the trend.

Some Women Don’t Buy Watches at All

Now, the next bit is quite controversial, to say the least. Most millennials nowadays do not buy watches at all due to the simple reason that smartphones exist. I think you already know where I am going with this.

Smartphones can do a lot of things and one of them is the ability to tell the time. In fact, people would just carry their smartphones with them and if they ever want to check the time, they can do so almost readily. Now, I said ‘almost’ because it is not all the time that your hands are free to fish your phone out of your pocket.

Having said that, the very people that praise smartphones for its timekeeping functionality are also the same people that are questioning the said device’s ability to make you productive (or not).

In conclusion, trends in women’s watches are (almost) always divisive.
